At Willow Tree Primary School, we recognise that strong foundational knowledge is essential for children to become confident, successful learners. Our Foundational Knowledge documents set out the key knowledge, vocabulary and understanding that children are expected to develop throughout each year group.
 

These documents provide an overview of the essential knowledge children need to remember and build upon, helping to create clear links between learning across subjects and year groups.  Our foundational knowledge is revisited regularly so that children have opportunities to recall, apply and build on what they already know. This supports children in developing strong long-term knowledge and prepares them for future learning.
